Habitability is the owner of the Futureproof approach to new development, and is lead partner responsible for its implementation.

The Habitability directorship currently includes three founding directors and two non-executive directors. Combined, they have nearly 150 years of relevant experience and continue to drive innovation and positive change.

Philip Jackson – Director

Philip Jackson has been involved in the built environment – both new build and existing communities – for over 17 years. He brings considerable experience in sustainable buildings design, the low carbon and renewable energy economy, carbon reduction projects and associated project financing. To date Philip has been involved, directly and indirectly, in the design and development of over 400 residential development projects. He continues to advise local and regional government on residential projects, technologies and solutions, and is retained by many of the plc developers to provide consultancy advice. Philip is the co-founder of Futureproof.

John Parsonage – Director

John Parsonage has considerable project management experience, for example a lead role in the regeneration of Hastings, the conversion of the NRI buildings at Chatham for use by the University of Greenwich and establishment of the University of Sussex in the BT building in Hastings. He led the development of the London Science Park at Dartford. He is a co-founder of Futureproof.

Rob Bennett – Director

Rob Bennett has extensive senior experience over the last 30 years, working for the public and private sectors in the property industry across the UK. His key areas of expertise are economic and property appraisals, market analysis, delivery and funding advice for physical regeneration and growth areas. He has a wide-ranging track record of identifying, initiating, developing, funding and managing major urban regeneration strategies and mixed-use projects. In many instances this has included the evolution of innovative infrastructure and development strategies, establishing delivery mechanisms and structures including public-private joint ventures.

Colin Warnock – Non-Executive Director

Colin Warnock an independent economist and management consultant with over 30 years of experience in the performance management of economic development, housing and regeneration projects.

Alison Nicholl – Non-Executive Director

Alison Nicholl is Head of Constructing Excellence – a national movement for change in the built environment with the aim of bringing about a more collaborative industry.

Philip Kassanis – Design and Masterplanning

Philip Kassanis  is a consultant architect & urban designer specialising in masterplanning. He was senior associate director & lead masterplanner at Mountford Pigott before founding his own firm in 2010.

Karen Shanks – Offsite Manufacture

Karen Shanks is an offsite manufacturing specialist, having been part of the management team that set up Ilke Homes, a Managing Director of NuLiving with responsibility for their offsite manufacturing facilities in Essex, and formerly an industry advisor with BuildOffsite.

Sital Cheema – Institutional Investment

Sital Cheema has over 20 years of investment experience across a broad range of disciplines including ESG and climate change; a Sustainability Ambassador for the Transparency Task Force and sustainability investment technical expert on the BSI Sustainability Investment Management Standards Project.

Andy Smith – Development and Viability

Andy Smith is a Director at SQW and has worked in the property industry for over 20 years. He has a broad knowledge of all aspects of the development process and a strong understanding of the challenges facing developers in bringing sites forward successfully.

Ann Bentley – Risk and Delivery

Ann Bentley has been a member of RLB’s Global Board since 2012 and is a past Global Chair. With more than 35 years’ experience in the property and construction sector, Ann has strong expertise in working with commercial, public and third sector clients.
